We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring and dedicated teacher of Spanish with drive and ambition to join the well-established Languages team. The department prides itself on being dynamic, supportive and willing to go the extra-mile for our students.

The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range (Key Stages 3 and 4), planning and facilitating engaging lessons that stretch and challenge students. The position would suit an experienced candidate or an ECT.

Teaching Assistant

Grade 3 – £24,404 FTE (Actual salary £18,081)

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team to support students with their learning and behaviour needs. The position involves working with individual students and small groups of students across all curriculum areas.

Hours to be worked will be between 8.30am – 3.30pm.  Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is preferable.

You should:

  • Have a minimum of grade C / 5 for English and Maths
  • Have excellent communication skills and use these to build strong relationships with students
  • Be able to use your own initiative as well as to work as part of a team
  • Have good inter-personal skills including the ability to use judgement and common sense
  • Use your skills to support students in fulfilling their academic potential
  • Have a calm and patient approach
  • Have the ability to interpret instructions from teachers and deliver these to students you are working with.

Head of Languages (0.6-0.8) + TLR2a £3,391 (pro rata)

Holbrook Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and well qualified Head of Languages from September 2025.

The position would suit an experienced candidate or a more recently qualified teacher looking for their first step-up into middle leadership. Currently, we offer Spanish from Year 7 to Year 11. This is an exciting opportunity to continue the development of Spanish teaching at Holbrook and we are open to introducing other languages.

You should:-

  • be an excellent classroom practitioner with a commitment to supporting students to achieve their full potential in Spanish.

Examination Invigilators

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in November, February/March, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

  • have experience in basic administration
  • be reliable and punctual
  • demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
  • work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
