Behaviour Support Assistant

Closing date: Friday 30th November 2018

Grade 2, Point 8 – £16,626 per annum (pro rata)

Fixed term to 31 August 2018

3 days per week:- Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (term time only)

We are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to support the Academy in addressing the needs of students with challenging behavior, inside and outside the classroom, in order to help them achieve their full potential.

You should have a minimum of GCSE grade C in English and Maths and experience of working with young people in an educational environment is desirable.

Cover Supervisor (2 terms)

Closing date: Friday 30th November 2018

(Full-time, 2 terms/fixed term, 39 weeks per year)

£18,672 – £20,541 pro rata

Required for January 2019, a suitably qualified full-time Cover Supervisor. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the Academy’s weekly enrichment programme through supporting other colleagues or offering a new activity.  This will be a fixed term appointment for two terms in the first instance.  The post will be reviewed at Easter with a view to confirming it as permanent.

Applicants should be educated to degree level in any subject area. Previous experience of working with young people will be an advantage, but experience of teaching is not a requirement. The post would suit recent graduates who may be seeking to gain experience in the classroom before going on to gain Qualified Teacher Status in the future.

Some of the duties a Cover Supervisor can expect to perform are:

Leading whole classes while teachers are away from school and ensuring the lesson plan is delivered to a high standard;

managing behaviour in the classroom;

ensuring all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives;

preparing the classroom for lessons;

helping any students who are struggling with the work set for their cover lessons and

assisting teachers in planning lessons.

Teacher of Design Technology (Food)

Closing date: Friday 30th November 2018

Required immediately, a suitably qualified and experienced full-time teacher of Design and Technology – Food.

We are looking for a teacher with a cookery/catering background with experience of delivering Food Preparation & Nutrition at GCSE. There may be the possibility of a Head of Department role, on the appropriate allowance, for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range (Key Stages 3 and 4).

Exam Invigilators

Closing date: Wednesday 31st January 2018

We are in the process of recruiting people to act as invigilators, scribes and readers for our students during their external exams, mock exams and controlled assessments.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in May and June.

This work can be very rewarding: the successful applicants will make a genuine contribution to the success of both the school and individual students.
