Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team to support students with their learning and behaviour needs. The position involves  working with individual students and small groups of students across all curriculum areas.

Hours to be worked will be between 8.15am – 3.30pm.

You will need to have a minimum grade C for English and Maths.

Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is preferable.

Cover Supervisor

Salary £21,569  (FTE £25,409)

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum.

 

Applicants should be educated to degree level in any subject area. Previous experience of working with young people will be an advantage, but experience of teaching is not a requirement. The post would suit recent graduates who may be seeking to gain experience in the classroom before going on to gain Qualified Teacher Status in the future.

Some of the duties a Cover Supervisor can expect to perform are:

  • leading whole classes while teachers are away from school and ensuring the work set is delivered to a high standard;
  • managing behaviour in the classroom in line with the Academy’s expectations;
  • ensuring all students are focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives;
  • preparing the classroom for lessons;
  • helping any students who are struggling with the work set for their cover lessons, and
  • assisting teachers in planning lessons.

Examination Invigilators

Closing date: Friday 17th November 2023

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in December, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

  • have experience in basic administration
  • be reliable and punctual
  • demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
  • work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.77 per hour (including holiday pay)
