IT System Administrator

Closing date: Monday 12th August 2024

Permanent

 Salary range : Point 19 to 22 (£34,834 to £38,223) per annum (Pay award pending – £1,290)

 We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Administrator to join the Academy from September 2024.

The principal responsibility is to provide specialist 1st/2nd line support in IT across the school, including preparation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and support to staff and pupils. This includes day-to-day management of the school’s network and ensuring a high standard of IT learning facilities are available at all times. In this role, you would be supported with 3rd line support from a local team, including regular site visits and the option to direct additional engineer time as appropriate. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • management experience of Microsoft operating systems in an education setting and Google Workspace
  • excellent working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • experience of managing Vmware vSphere
  • experience of managing Office 365 and Federated Services
  • experience of enterprise antivirus solutions in a networked environment
  • management and deployment of software images through Systems centre Configuration Manager or Windows Deployment Services
  • experience of HP networking (LAN & WLAN)
  • experience of a network monitoring solution to proactively monitor key systems and services
  • knowledge of Capita SIMS
  • experience working with Lightspeed filtering, Fortinet Fortigate firewalls, Senso monitoring or equivalent tools for keeping children safe online. 
  • some experience planning projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing successful solutions.
  • ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical school users
  • experience of working in schools: putting children first and facilitating excellence

Examination Invigilators

Closing date: Monday 11th March 2024

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in December, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

  • have experience in basic administration
  • be reliable and punctual
  • demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
  • work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
