Cleaner

We require a Cleaner to join our friendly team to clean the classrooms, offices and toilets in the Academy.

2 hours per day – 3.30-5.30pm.

Term time plus 2 weeks during holidays.

English Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring and dedicated teacher with drive and ambition to join the well-established English team at the start of the Summer term 2025. The department prides itself on being dynamic, supportive and willing to go the extra-mile for our students.

The successful candidate will teach across the age and ability range (Key Stages 3 and 4), collaboratively planning and facilitating engaging lessons that stretch and challenge students. The position would suit an experienced candidate or an early careers teacher.  Knowledge of AQA English Language and Literature is desirable.

First Aid & Reprographics Assistant

Closing date: Thursday 9th January 2025

Salary – Actual £17,495 per annum (FTE £24,404)

Permanent – Required immediately

 

We are looking to appoint a First Aid and Reprographics Assistant for 31.25 hours per week.

Hours of work will be 9.00am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, based in the reception area of the Dr Letman Centre in a newly created space.  This appointment is term time only plus 5 PD Days.

As First Aid Assistant, you will provide care to students and staff, supervise unwell or injured students. You will evaluate the illness or injury, treat the patient if possible, and determine if it is necessary to call the student’s parent/carer to take them home or seek further medical advice. Trained First Aiders are based in the main office and will be able to provide support as and when necessary.  You will also provide support for off-site trips and visits which require student medication to be carried by staff.

As Reprographics Assistant, you will provide a high standard of  support to staff and students with photocopying, printing, etc

You will need:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills together with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
  • Confidence to be able to talk to students, staff and parents/carers alike
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Experience of Google, Office, etc
  • Personal and professional commitment to the ethos and aims of the Academy
  • To be an effective team player.

A knowledge of first aid would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Knowledge of the SIMS system or similar management information system would be useful as would previous experience of working within a school environment.

Examination Invigilators

Closing date: Monday 27th January 2025

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in November, February/March, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

  • have experience in basic administration
  • be reliable and punctual
  • demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
  • work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
