Our school is based in the village of Holbrook at the heart of the beautiful Shotley Peninsula – a stretch of countryside between the Orwell and Stour estuaries, but just a 15 minute drive from Ipswich or Manningtree railway stations.
This is a happy, healthy place – with sailing, cycling, tennis, horse-riding and walking among the local passions. We are a stone’s throw from the picturesque Alton Water, a huge inland reservoir with birdwatching, watersports and walking. Parts of the peninsula are owned by the National Trust and much of it is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is a magnet for artists and craftspeople, inspired by the beautiful landscape and seascapes.
The school’s main catchments are the primary schools from the villages on the peninsula – Chelmondiston, Shotley, Holbrook, Tattingstone and Stutton. We also take in many students from Brantham and Bentley and from Ipswich and Manningtree.
