Assistant Headteacher (Safeguarding & Pastoral)

The Assistant Headteacher (Safeguarding and Pastoral) will be a member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and play a major role in the strategic development of the school, as outlined below. This is a non-teaching post.

We are looking for a candidate with previous middle or senior leadership experience that demonstrates a positive and successful impact on the experience and outcomes for young people, alongside the raising of standards in staff performance. They must have strategic and operational safeguarding experience.

Main Responsibilities

To model exemplary relationships with staff and pupils, demonstrating to the school community how high expectations can be maintained alongside high quality relationships and communication.
Leadership of the safeguarding team as Designated Safeguarding Lead
Leadership of the Pastoral team including monitoring of Looked After Children, Young Carers and other key vulnerable groups
Identification of key improvement for that area, followed by planning of activities with key success indicators and milestones.
Lead aspects of the School Improvement Plan and Self Evaluation relating to the agreed area.
Provide effective line management and leadership of identified team leaders.
To model outstanding practice in the classroom, including teaching, planning and feedback
Attend and participate in all SLT meetings, presenting reports and updates as required

Leadership & Management

Share the responsibility for the leadership of the school and contribute to the decision-making processes of school leadership.
To take a lead in the maintaining of high standards of behaviour and dress.
To have a visible presence in corridors and ensure care for the environment and the fabric of the building, including assisting with lunch-time supervision and gate duty.
To actively promote the ethos and policies of the school.
To communicate and consult with governors, staff, students, parents/carers and members of the wider school community.

Teaching Assistant

Closing date: Wednesday 31st January 2024

33 hours per week

Point 4 – £23,114 (33 hours / 38 weeks) (Actual salary £17,051)

Required as soon as possible

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly team to support students with their learning and behaviour needs. The position involves working with individual students and small groups of students across all curriculum areas.

Hours to be worked will be between 8.15am – 3.30pm.

You will need to have a minimum grade C for English and Maths.

Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting is preferable.

Examination Invigilators

Closing date: Monday 11th March 2024

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in December, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

have experience in basic administration
be reliable and punctual
demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
possess good communication skills
be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
