SIXTH IN SUFFOLK
National School Performance Tables published in the Times newspaper on 21st January 2017 placed Holbrook Academy sixth in the County of Suffolk on the basis of our 2016 results. This is the highest ranking in the school’s history.
PARKING AROUND THE ACADEMY
A number of complaints have been received by Holbrook Parish Council regarding dangerous and inconsiderate parking in Clench Road and on Ipswich Road at the start and end of the school day. Local residents are mainly concerned about the blocking of their driveways and where drivers are parking partially on the pavement near the tight bend opposite Berners Field, forcing other road users into the centre of the road.
We would be grateful if parents/carers could be aware of these concerns and, in the interests of safety, avoid such practices in the future.
2016 GCSE RESULTS
We are delighted to report another set of outstanding GCSE results. 69% of students achieved the ‘old’ measure of five or more A*-C grades including Maths and English and 73% achieved A*-C grades in Maths and English. The most satisfying statistic is that using the new government ‘Progress 8’ performance measure which will apply this year to all schools, we achieved an outcome of +0.25.
