Premises Manager

Salary:  £28,770 per annum (£1,290 pay award pending)

37 hrs per week (shift pattern to be agreed)

52 weeks per year

Holbrook Academy is looking for a motivated Premises Manager, with excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude, who is reliable, organised, flexible, able to problem solve and can work individually as well as part of a team.

As Premises Manager, you will support the Headteacher and Leadership Team with responsiblity for a range of duties including:-

  • Securing the premises at the end of the day and unlocking the premises in the morning, on a rota basis.
  • Supervision and management of Premises and cleaning staff.
  • Ensuring the school complies with all current Health & Safety and other legislation in relation to site safety and facilities management.
  • Being on-call in the event of emergencies and sharing on-call responsibilities with other members of the team at weekends and during the school holidays.
  • Monitoring and ensuring routine building and site maintenance work is undertaken as necessary.
  • Liaising with school staff, contractors, and other appropriate persons as required.
  • Occasionally driving students to and from events in the school minibus.
  • Overseeing the Sports Centre lettings and liaising with hirers.
  • Ensuring the site is litter free and that damage within the buildings and site is immediately acted upon.

You should :-

  • Have an understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • Have knowledge of building and site security
  • Have experience of managing maintenance schedules, which will include statutory checks, servicing and the review of documents.
  • Have the ability to manage a small premises team and support where necessary.
  • Be confident with IT ie Google, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc

First Aid & Reprographics Assistant (p/t)

Salary – Actual £16,300 per annum (FTE £22,737) Pay award pending.

Permanent – Required immediately

 

We are looking to appoint a First Aid and Reprographics Assistant for 31.25 hours per week.

Hours of work will be 9.00am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday, based in the reception area of the Dr Letman Centre.  This appointment is term time only plus 5 PD Days.

As First Aid Assistant, you will provide care to students and staff, supervise unwell or injured students. You will evaluate the illness or injury, treat the patient if possible, and determine if it is necessary to call the students parent/carer to take them home or seek further medical advice. First Aiders in the main office will provide support as and when necessary.

As Reprographics Assistant, you will provide a high standard of reprographic support to staff and students.

You will need:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills together with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
  • To be able to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Experience of Google, Office, etc
  • Personal and professional commitment to the ethos and aims of the Academy
  • To be an effective team player.

A knowledge of first aid would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. Knowledge of the SIMS system or similar management information system would be useful as would previous experience of working within a school environment.

Head of Food Studies (0.9)

Required for November 2024

Permanent / Mainscale + TLR2A (currently £3,213)

 

We are looking for an inspirational Head of Food Studies, teaching KS3 Food Studies and GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition.  Under the current timetable, there are no lessons on Friday afternoons.

You should

  • be an excellent classroom practitioner with a commitment to supporting students to achieve their full potential;
  • deliver high quality lessons on a consistent basis;
  • be a committed teacher with high levels of professionalism and the desire to develop and enhance the opportunities provided for our students;
  • manage behaviour effectively by praising and sanctioning appropriately and in line with Academy guidelines;
  • have a knowledge of Food Hygiene regulations (preferably a Level 2 Food Safety qualification as a minimum) and a good knowledge of safety in a practical environment.

Examination Invigilators

Required immediately to assist the Examination Officer in the running and supervision of internal and external examinations.

Hours will be offered on an ad hoc basis, primarily in December, May and June. Ideally, applicants should be available for at least 5 morning or afternoon sessions a week. Sessions are potentially 8.30am-12.15pm and 1pm-4.45pm.

The successful candidates will:

  • have experience in basic administration
  • be reliable and punctual
  • demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • work well as a team as well has have the initiative and confidence to work on their own
  • possess good communication skills
  • be able to follow instructions and work within a strict set of regulations
  • work with calmness and flexibility.

Full training will be given.

Pay – £11.50 per hour (plus holiday pay)
